Southern USA Premiere; Gad Elmaleh, director; France, 2009
French w/ English subtitles; 95 min

Gad Elmaleh, star of last year’s hit, Father’s Footsteps, plays a nouveau riche Jewish Moroccan immigrant who dazzles the public, politicians, and competitors with his flamboyant panache. But his over-the-top plans for his son’s bar mitzvah turn off his family. After developing a heart condition along the way, (starring Gerard Depardieu as the cardiologist), Coco has a moment of truth about being a father. A comedy about a son becoming a man and a father finally growing up!
