French w/ English subtitles; 105 min.

Louise, played by a very unglamorous Catherine Denueve, wants her unemployed daughter find work. When she sees that a Jewish attorney she once dated advertises a clerical job, she urges her daughter to apply. Louise’s world and the lawyer’s world are light-years apart but the incredible lie that her daughter builds up draws both families together, and plays on the issue of racism and anti-Semitism. Based on a true story.
