In an ultra-Orthodox community, Aaron, a 30-ish butcher with a
wife and four children, falls in love with a young Torah student.
Initially, welcoming the sacred challenge of being able to confront
and control his passions, he ultimately succumbs to Ezri’s
seductiveness. This fascinating film shows the attractions and
disadvantages of life in a closed religious community, dealing
soberly and sensitively with the price paid for homosexuality
and non-conformity.
Guest: Haim Tayakman, director, was film editor of last year’s
controversial My Father, My Lord.
