He sets out to find a wife by writing letters to 117 Hungarian women who are also recovering in Sweden. One of the recipients is 19-year-old Lili, who is charmed by his writing and begins corresponding with him. Complications arise as ailing Miklós tries to find a way to elude his caregivers in order to visit Lili.
