This
powerful, heart-rending film looks at the price
exacted by a rigid observation of religious beliefs.
Its central character, played by noted actor Asi
Dayan, is a respected rabbi who belongs to Israel’s
extreme Orthodox community. A loving husband and
father, he’s forced to come to terms with his faith
when a family vacation to the Dead Sea takes a
tragic turn. Director David Volach unreels the story
more with bittersweet love than with anger.
This screening is made possible through the
generosity of Dundi and S. Lyon Sachs. |
