In 1942 France, Simon, his wife Lea, sister-in-law
Mauricette, Madame Schwartz, and 11-year-old Henri
are forced to split up to cross the demarcation line
separating Free France from the zone occupied by the
Germans. The Jewish Parisian family is soon reunited
in the countryside where Maury, a farmer, shelters
them. Danger is all around, and to make matters
worse, Mauricette is pregnant and Madame Schwartz
only speaks Yiddish. A heart-warming story about
courage, cowardice, and a clash between two
different worlds that will move you from laughter to
tears to laughter again.
