Israel, 2004; Yaron Zilberman, director
Hebrew, German w/ English subtitles; 80 minutes

Nanne, Anne Marie, Elisheva, Judith, Hanni, Trude, Anni and Greta were champion women swimmers of
Hakoah Vienna, one of the biggest athletic clubs in Europe in the 1930s. Shattering stereotypes by dominating national competitions, they had to flee the country in 1938.

Sixty-five years later, director Zilberman meets arranges for the women, now in their eighties, to a reunion in their old swimming pool in Vienna, a journey that evokes memories of youth, femininity and strengthens lifelong bonds. A celebration of life, the film shows the women to be outstanding athletes who still swim daily as they age with grace.
