Paris, July 1942. Caught between the comfort and welfare of his family and a growing moral conscience, Edmond Batignole is an ordinary man looking to get by as best he can under trying circumstances. A butcher, he’s apolitical about the German Occupation until his future son-in-law informs on the Jewish family who lives above the butcher shop. Inadvertently responsible for their deportation, Batignole panics when Simon Bernstein, the young son of the Jewish family, escapes and turns up on his doorstep. Feeling guilty, Batignole hides the boy and later his two cousins and eventually helps them to escape across the border to Switzerland.

A "feel-good" comedy-drama about an ordinary man who discovers extraordinary courage in himself even though it removes him from his family.
